Stainless steel cable nets as fall protection at Emerald Retreat
For the balconies of Emerald Retreat, a refined and carefully considered stainless steel cable net solution was chosen, fully adapted to the surroundings and the guest experience.
The nets were made from AISI 316 stainless steel, with a cable diameter of Ø 2 mm and a mesh opening of 40 mm in an equilateral mesh geometry. This specific configuration creates a balanced, almost square pattern that brings visual calm and blends seamlessly with the luxurious architecture of the accommodation.
The choice of this mesh shape is not purely aesthetic. In an environment where squirrel monkeys move freely through the canopy, a safe and reliable barrier was essential. At the same time, the panoramic view over the tropical greenhouse had to remain fully open.
The equilateral mesh geometry therefore combines several qualities in a single solution:

One of the major advantages of stainless steel cable nets is that the sides of the balconies can be made in one continuous piece.

At the customer’s request, the roof section was integrated into a tubular frame that we tensioned in advance in our own workshop.
The vertical sides were installed as complete sections and tensioned on site.
This allows guests to enjoy the widest possible view of the impressive surroundings high in the greenhouse.
Stainless steel cable nets for the balconies at The Riverside Haven
At The Riverside Haven, a different mesh configuration was selected from the one used at Emerald Retreat.
Here, the stainless steel cable nets have a cable diameter of Ø 2 mm with 60 × 104 mm mesh openings in a classic diamond pattern.
Because the squirrel monkeys are only present in the upper greenhouse area, smaller mesh openings were not required at the lower level.
This made it possible to opt for greater transparency and an even more open view of the water, greenery and surrounding environment.

AISI 316 stainless steel fixings in a timber structure
All fixing components were made from AISI 316 stainless steel, which is essential in a tropical greenhouse environment with high humidity.
The anchoring was discreetly integrated into the timber columns and supporting structure, with particular attention to:

- Structural reliability
- Long service life
The combination of timber and stainless steel cable nets reinforces the natural character of the architecture.

The stainless steel cable nets not only ensure the safety of guests, but also help protect the animals in the greenhouse.
Thanks to the nets, everything stays on the correct side of the barrier — subtly, reliably and without disrupting the view.

In Emerald Retreat en The Riverside Haven zorgen RVS Kabelnetten voor maximale transparantie zonder compromis op bescherming.
RVS Kabelnetten als valbeveiliging in Emerald Retreat
Voor de balkons van Emerald Retreat werd gekozen voor een verfijnde en doordachte uitvoering van het RVS Kabelnet, volledig afgestemd op de omgeving en de beleving van de gasten.
De netten werden uitgevoerd in RVS 316, met een kabeldiameter van Ø 2 mm en een maasopening van 40 mm in een gelijkzijdige maasgeometrie. Deze specifieke configuratie creëert een evenwichtig, bijna vierkant patroon dat visueel rust uitstraalt en naadloos aansluit bij de luxueuze architectuur van de verblijven.
De keuze voor deze maasvorm is niet louter esthetisch. In een omgeving waar doodshoofdaapjes zich vrij bewegen in het bladerdak, was een veilige en betrouwbare afscheiding essentieel. Tegelijk moest het panoramisch zicht op de tropische serre volledig behouden blijven.
De gelijkzijdige maasgeometrie combineert daarom meerdere kwaliteiten in één oplossing:
Een veilige afscheiding in een natuurlijke leefomgeving, met maasopeningen klein genoeg om te voorkomen dat de aapjes op de balkons kunnen komen

Het resultaat is geen visuele barrière, maar een subtiele veiligheidsgrens — technisch doordacht, esthetisch verfijnd en perfect geïntegreerd in de architectuur van Emerald Retreat.
Het grote voordeel van te werken met RVS kabelnetten is dat de zijden van de balkons in één stuk kunnen worden gemaakt.

Het dakgedeelte werd op vraag van de klant verwerkt in een buizenframe dat we op voorhand in eigen atelier hebben bespannen.
De verticale zijden werden als volledige stukken geplaatst en ter plaatse opgespannen.
Zo kunnen de gasten genieten van het maximale zicht op de fantastische omgeving in de nok van de serre.
RVS 316 bevestiging in houten constructie
Alle bevestigingscomponenten werden uitgevoerd in RVS 316, essentieel in een tropische serreomgeving met hoge luchtvochtigheid.
De verankering gebeurde discreet in de houten kolommen en draagstructuur, met aandacht voor:
