The renewed dyke modules in Puurs-Sint-Amands are now complete. Along the Scheldt, new places have been created where nature, engineering and tranquillity come together — enhanced by our stainless steel cable nets, which preserve the view as much as possible.
The riverbanks of Sint-Amands have gained several striking new features. The new dyke modules are complete and bring visitors literally closer to the water. At strategic locations, they create places to pause, with benches and impressive views across the river and surrounding polder landscape.
The project forms part of the Sigma Plan and is situated within the Scheldt Valley National Park, where nature development and water management go hand in hand.
Now that the works have been completed, the area can be experienced at its best: open, inviting and harmoniously integrated into the landscape.
One of the most striking dyke modules is The Large Circles. This location consists of circular platforms with benches, information panels and space to pause and take in the surroundings. From here, visitors enjoy a wide panorama over the village, the polder and the Scheldt.

Cable nets fit naturally into the dyke modules in Sint-Amands because they provide safety without compromising the open character of the location. Thanks to their transparent and visually lightweight appearance, views of the Scheldt and the surrounding landscape remain largely unobstructed. They are also durable and suitable for outdoor use, making them a strong and elegant solution for this unique environment.

Another eye-catching feature is The Scheldt Beach. This dyke module descends towards the water and creates a completely different experience: closer to the Scheldt, lower at river level and with a more relaxed, open character.

The new dyke modules in Sint-Amands are all about the experience: getting closer to the water, slowing down for a moment and fully enjoying the view. Our cable nets support this concept perfectly.
With a mesh size of 60 x 104 mm and a cable diameter of 2 mm, they provide safe screening without obstructing views of the natural surroundings. The focus therefore remains entirely on the Scheldt and the landscape.

The opening of the dyke modules marks an important stage in the redevelopment of the Scheldt riverbanks. In the coming years, the structures will become established places for residents, walkers and cyclists to enjoy the beautiful views and the renewed experience of the river landscape.
